To gain experience in advertising, I had the opportunity to join the AAF group at Penn State. Through this experience, I met so many incredibly talented people, and I have gotten real experience on creating a campaign in a team environment. From the strategizing at the beginning of the year to the creative in the spring, I had an amazing experience and even got to go to New York City for our presentation!

I was assigned as a designer for the out-of-home portion of our campaign, and one of the most obvious things to do was making billboards. These billboard mockups were super fun to brainstorm and create, writing the copy with my group and tweaking the design until it looked right.

As we finalized the plansbook, I was assigned one of the final tasks: the media planning chart, detailing what initiative would be using money at what time. It was a very meticulous task, making sure everything lined up and the spacing was consistent, but the final product was worth it, delivering a comprehensive view of our full campaign. In the end, we placed second in our district, and I got to see the campaigns that other schools came up with during presentations in New York City. It was an amazing first year experience in AAF and I am so grateful for everyone who helped me along the way.
